The Manchurian Candidate

Yesterday, I got to see both version of The Manchurian Candidate, the 1962 and 2004 ones, and I must say I liked them both. Probably the 1962 one made a bigger impression since it was the first one I saw. The 1962 version might have also been a bit creepier because it was shot in black & white, so everything was more grim by default. But then again the very dramatic acting of those times (plus 1 or 2 unrealistic situations) would sometimes remind me that this is only a movie. Otherwise, both Angela Lansbury and Meryl Streep were as creepy as mothers, very well played both! Same with Lawrence Harvey, Liev Schreiber, Denzel Washington and Frank Sinatra.
